Witness to 9/11 NYC a parallel ‘ripple effect’ is to be apprehended – socially, economically, politically, plus specific to France:
1)  Frequentation of major retail, cultural, entertainment, transport  venues… suffers sharp decline.
2) Tourism greatly reduced.
3) Job losses in Department Stores, Restaurants, Hotels, Airport Retail
4) Consequent hardship for affected employees, including even taxi drivers, unable to pay mortgages/rental.
5) Festive season suffers major loss of custom.
6) Traumatized, bereaved families unable to work.
7) Profiling of ‘suspect’ citizens heightened.
8) Social tensions – fear and suspicion of fellow citizens.
9) Political backlash as windfall to extreme right.
10) Syndrome of fear affecting our values and way of life.

Strong political leadership is vital to guide us to a new serenity.
